Reflection on Newest Blog Post: Comm 314

I chose the third option which was to write a new blog post about news or an event that relates to what I want to pursue once I graduate. The link for the first option wouldn't work, and I live too far from home to go to the Writing Center. I also have completed an assignment similar to the third option for another class, so I thought I'd do it again. I also never saw an article, before news research, that was about making use of social media around the holidays. I felt like that could be important for any company to know because people are usually outside shopping or, just in general, are active during that time of the year. It's also a time where companies generate a lot of revenue so its important to know where people are going for events or vacations.

My new post adds to the portfolio by enhancing my application of a tool from my field to my future field. I utilized and analyzed the effects of social media on a business, and eventually, I will have to do the same. However, I will be more knowledgeable about the flexibility social media because how I apply it will depend on what company I choose to work for. If I work for a software company then I will be applying different social media outlets than what it is utilized for a fashion company. Overall, on my website, I made small changes. I changed the background because I received a comment from a student that my previous one was distracting. I also recently got the chance to write for the HerCampus team at Old Dominion University, so I added a button application to showcase what I have written and what I will write.
